while putting forth proposals that will surely drive the wealthy from the city, he complained about the city’s shrinking tax base and suggested a solution sure to drive out even more wealthy New Yorkers: raising taxes on the 1%.

“We are talking about our tax base growing smaller and smaller each day, with New Yorkers leaving to New Jersey, to Pennsylvania, to Connecticut,” Mamdani whined.

”If we do not meet this moment, we will lose the city.”

Although he plans to fund his policies by taxing the city’s wealthiest residents, he expressed his disdain for them.

In my 70+ years, I've never understood the "New York Frame of Mind"...

The place is the sewer runoff from the Northeast US and inhabited by the creatures associated with such an environment.

Tax millionaires and you get fewer millionaires. Tax wealth and there is less wealth. Tax work and you get less work.

Let's tax stupidity in hope we get less of that. How much do you think che would whine about that one?

That's not far off. The Gowanus Canal, for example, is an open sewer of untreated human waste.

A 2013 EPA report estimated that up to 377 million gallons of untreated human waste per year flowed into the canal.
