Some spots around San Angelo, TX got twice their prior record of rain...

...in just a few hours. All that water funneled down the Guadalupe River very quickly in the middle of the night. It was a recipe for disaster.

Fox Weather stated that there were systems in place to help predict flooding conditions but this was an unheard of event. Add to that the timing - in the middle of the night - and it was horrific.

PS -they also stated on Fox Weather that CHE is a moron...

and I keep praying for miracles but each hour that passes makes it seem less likely.
