We went to a small Mexican restaurant known for low prices...

...and good food. They just raised their prices by 30%. Inflation is still alive and well.

Their reason is simple. The large local company which created most of their lunch business has moved a lot of it's staff to consolidated locations or laid them off. They are struggling to stay afloat.

The food was still good but what was good for around $13 is not nearly as satisfying at $17.

Funny, the effective affect cost
can have upon ones pallet.

When I think about the restaurant food I
usually order when I’m ordering food in
a restaurant, I quickly realize I could
prepare the same meal at home with-
out having to wait on a busy waiter to
come take my order before they start
to prepare my food n it will be cooked
exactly the way I know like it -

I usually tip well, too

i don't eat at Mexican restaurants much anymore

though there are some really goods ones around here

I do recall when I lived in Austin in the 90s there was a place called Matt's El Rancho which had great food and killer Margaritas

Don't go to Austin anymore if I can help it

they were slow to incrementally raise them over time and had to shock their system. That's more likely with the big increase.
