I wish time would slow a bit! Temperatures were to 'plummet' here today...all the way down to 70. LOL

Earlier forecast was for rain...but not a drop!

Acres and acres of farmland surrounding my area have been sold and they are building duplexes on the land. Thousands of them. I might take pictures and share if I remember when I am traveling to city.

Ugly, dystopian duplexes. No color...no character. It is sad as hell.

Yeah, it's time to move for sure. The ghetto comes to the country. They may come near here but I own the land around me. They'll never be "next door".

I think the real estate developers know something about migration that the rest of us don't yet.

I am not exaggerating...thousands of duplexes.

I guess many pounced on that HUD provision that Carson removed in Trump's first term - yet it was one of the first EO's that Biden restored (initially an Obama measure tied to infrastructure) and although Trump has removed it again - guessing that developers had four Biden years to take advantage.

Thousands, now that's scary. I've got trees that block any view. Did they cut the trees down?

but there weren't many trees out on the farmland acerage anyway. I just don't think they let the land lay fallow long enough - all those crops were treated with pesticides over the last decades.

Before the 60's...the land our home stands on was once an orchard. We have a tree in the back that is older than our home - and we have to have an arborist come this year as a sizeable limb came down in the last real storm. There is quite a bit of dead in it - makes me sad. The bill to have the tree 'trimmed' or whatever they do makes me even sadder. I hope they show up in August to do the deed - but there have been many destructive winds this year so most companies are 6-8 weeks out on their schedule.

Anyway - at the east end of my area is a beautiful shelter belt that has stood there since the days of the orchard. We have fought many battles to prevent developers from cutting down that area. I suspect that the battle will be lost one day and I hope I am gone when it is.

Keep looking for another house. Doesn't sound good to me anyway. Someone has plans.
