We continued adding to the debt during the Reagan growth years and even the years Newt Gingrich was House Speaker.

Even the Republicans do not have the discipline to deliver balanced budgets.

Nope. Just as DOGE found out, nobody wants to do the hard cutting...

...they can cut in DC and in other people's districts but not their own.

We had a rep here who jumped up and down in DC about cutting costs of government but fought for a tiny post office that the postal service wanted to cut because they did not need it and showed up every few months with multi-million dollar checks for our small local airports.
