Blackberry Crisp

2-serving size. I didn't have many blackberries so I had to adjust the recipe. I didn't use honey in the topping because it's a crispy topping, not a cakey one. I did add a little to the blackberry mixture.

I was disappointed. It was mediocre at best, more chewy than crispy - the oats did not crisp (I used Quaker Oats (non-instant) and didn't measure my ingredients for the smaller dish. The flavor was pretty good, but not the texture. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

I have another crispy topping recipe that is guaranteed crispy and tasty. I'll post it soon. The day got away from me.

My sister bought them at a Publix out-of-town. They're not in season here, either, but will be soon. Publix outsources them from other areas, even internationally. Wal-Mart may have some now. Seasonally, ours here are ready in June and July. I grew up picking them from beside our town's railroad tracks. They were plentiful but the bushes had thorns. Ouch.
