That's a beautiful song. Grumpy loved his wife very much. Actually, I have a picture of Grumpy and his wife around here someplace, and I will post it if I can find it... Did you know that Grumpy worked in a local shipyard building ships prior to entering the Army? And the strange thing is, I worked in the same shipyard as a crane operator after I got out of the service. Grumpy was a well liked poster.

Indeed he did - and he loved his children very much - of whom I have had the privilege to spend time with.

He has been gone twelve years and he is so very missed. Mondo added him to the top of his board - up there with Mav - want him always remembered.

the first time I want to see grumpy and his children was in Seattle. I had no idea you were nearby.

Actually, there used to be quite a few posters in the Seattle area. SaL and Geoduck being a couple of them. And I think that Izzy lives in that area someplace.
The picture I have of Grumpy is when he was in Europe during WWII.

I remember the picture.

grumpy's home was actually in the western part of the state - but his oldest son (who is now in heaven with grumpy) lived in Seattle and moved grumpy there in the 2010/2011 time frame. At the end, grumpy was living in northern cali.

Gosh, SAL was great wasn't he!!! Did you tell me once that SAL was a radio personality - or am I confusing that with someone else?

I do recall posts from Geoduck but I did not ever really interact with that poster.

Actually, at one poing Grumpy used to live on the Oregon coast near Newport. He used a satellite connection to post with.
Geoduck was a city councilman in Seattle.
SaL was a sweetheart of a guy, and you are right, he used to be a radio personality. His office was downtown Seattle, and he was keeping the board informed of the riots that were taking place in Seattle back in '99 when the WTO was holding their meetings there.
