I have taken advice concerning Mervyn and am confident that I am not the only person who he has targeted to have done so. I was told that I surely have been libelled/defamed with direct accusations of fraud and obtaining money under false pretences.
What is particularly hurtful is the suggestion that I am ' topping up my mechanics income ' by these alleged means. I gave up the motor trade in 1998. I do not earn and never have earned anything from Radio Caroline. The job consumes all my time and costs me money.
I am told that one cannot plead not guilty to libel by reason of insanity. My lawyer states, sensibly, that Mervyn does not think he is insane and that while a ' cease and desist ' letter may work on a person who is just mistaken or has over stepped the mark, that Mervyn may view it as a challenge and become even more extreme.
This would oblige me to act but then even when the case is proven in my favour I would not recover all my costs and if any award of damages was made there is no certainty that I would ever receive them.

Maybe I will just suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune until such time as Mervyn's brain implodes or he gets treatment or is sectioned.
