Link: Radio Mi Amigo
I grabbed the excuse to fish the attached out....
In Oct '78, I went through a phase (a week I think) of recording Radio Mi Amigo's start up because that's the only time they played a specific jingle. It was a school day and I was up for 6.30am to catch this nonsense.
Turns out that a couple of days after this recording someone put sand in the generator (or whatever was the legend of why it all stopped) and Radio Mi Amigo was no more - from that ship.
Recorded on dad's reel to reel, with perhaps a loop above it or possibly a wire aerial down the garden fed to his valve radio gram. I was quite proud of the audio.
Around this time I ran a micro business trying to sell such recordings to folks like Ken in Scotland - maybe I should charge for this one
Anybody know what they are saying in the middle of the "Mi Amigo Radio internationaaalle" jingle?
