Can only say that in endless conversations with Ronan over 25 years he never once made any mention of Manx Radio.
Nothing to do with Manx but when the poor guy was in a care home, the devoted Ines described his situation as she would like it to be rather than as it was, telling me always ' Ronan is doing great '. In this respect she may have led Paul astray albeit with the best intentions, leading him to describe animated conversations with a man who was essentially non verbal.
I do remember a Caroline reunion in Soho where Paul enthusiastically told Ronan about his Isle of Man project for 279. O'Rahilly listened for a while and then held his hand up for silence and this being achieved then said ' I am not remotely interested '. But that is not how Paul saw it.
Where Paul and I seem to be comrades is that the insane Hagger has lumped us together to vent his fury on us together.

A couple of follow up questions Paul
1) Where in the Nations Station book does it say Ronan was in charge or indeed had any involvement in Manx Radio, It mentions the unauthorised power increase but absolutely no mention of Ronan O’Rahilly in that context.
2) What was the “informal arrangement” you refer to?
3) Can you provide links to the political histories/blogs you mention.
Thanks
Just to clarify: The Caroline Bible is several peoples' stories consolidated. Ronan's brief period "on the Head" is referred to in a couple of political histories / blogs of Tynwald members, as well as the "Nations Station" history of the station. Bill Quayle and Victor Kneale seem to have done the deal - I did ask Peter Kneal (MD for many years) and he said it was only an informal arrangement and Sir Charles Kerruish confirmed this.
