As far as I understand it, the 50 could never reach the full amount due to the generators that were put on board.
I think they weren't powerful enough to run the TX at full whack and when the 5kw was put into use to combat Laser, the gennies weren't strong enough.
Then the big V12 arrived and unfortunately didn't have chance to be used in anger before the tower dropped

I believe the 50 on the Ross, was never run at more than 35kw -to extend tube life & to conserve fuel. Though is might have been a bit more when they first started.
