As mentioned, range is another limation.
My community station currently on FM (with some top content!), appears intent to be networked on 3 SSDABs. This sounds for them a sure improvement, ie DAB vs FM and greater coverage -assuming the sync works.

This is not pirate radio but is an area strongly associated with with offshore radio in the past so might be of interest. A company has been set up to apply for a small scale DAB multiplex for the Colchester and Clacton area. A couple of existing community stations would be on board if successful. The application deadline is the end of June this year so any other stations that would be interested in carriage if successful should register their interest with the group via their contact details on their website here
