A reply from my friend saying "I met Paul over 20 years ago. He was sure the main man working the station but did not own it"

Ian B,
Thanks for that - I've passed the link on to an Amateur Radio friend of mine,local to me, who knew the owner of Radio North in the very early days .
Not sure if he knew Paul.
Still silent this morning.
Kev
Thanks Kevin.
Not sure of the current situation with Radio North. Unfortunately Paul, the main operator and all round good guy, died a few weeks ago (RIP) after a long battle with cancer. I did a tribute here;

He did have a partner at the station, but I don't know who. A contact in Ireland thinks the absence may be weather related, so hopefully they will be back. Unlike many medium wave stations, I believe Radio North is one of the exceptions that still have listeners to 846. Although light on commercials, they have loads of religious sponsors that no doubt pay the bills.
I last heard them on Thursday night when driving to York, mixing with this Caroline relay.
Ian B,
Radio North is a weak but usable signal on the west coast of UK but MW conditions have been poor so not heard for the last few days or because the transmitter is off.
I haven't heard anything else on the frequency apart from the usual splatter.
I can't find any info as to why 846khz is silent.
Also hope it's not permanent .
Kev
Has anyone noticed a relay of Caroline Flashback on n 846 kHz. Been noted in Yorkshire and Scotland, especially at the moment as Radio North is off 846. Hopefully that is a temporary absence.
Any observations welcome.
