It was no drama. The weather obliged us to cancel the visitor trips.I offered Dave Foster the option of doing Dec from land but all the guys wanted to go out.
Nicky Boyce ventured out at 1am on Monday and got alongside but had water coming over the bow and either broke or had to cut the bow rope even after going ahead in gear to maintain position.
All parties agreed that transferring humans from one boat to the other was unwise. He returned in daylight after the tide had turned and the wind moderated.
These things happen.
The most extensive report on this seems to have been written by Steve Jenner in spite of the small matter of him not having been present.

Emma, Barry's daughter, told me they got back to land about 12 midday on Monday.
I can't verify whether that is true or not. But if the weather there was as bad as predicted, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. You surely didn't expect them to leave the ship if the conditions were dangerous did you? That would be reckless and irresponsible.
Is it correct that because of the weather the team didn't get off the ship until Monday morning?
