Mine was recorded on reel to reel. Rob A suspected the fast replay was at my end. An ex shipmate said he posted here once and regretted it. I think I see his point. Like I say I meant only in the context of what non anoraks say to me. For what it’s worth, I haven’t.  Previous MessageFreddie -- thanks for the recording . Nick C -- is it the original recording that is paying fast? If so check the pinch roller and capstan motor for a build up of magnetic particles off the (old) tapes. I was given 400 old cassettes recently and spent a rainy day finding out what was on them. There was a huge build up of crud on the pinch roller and capstan in the end with good tapes playing fast.Heaven knows how many times I cleaned the tape head. I'm sure you know this anyway but easily missed.
