The interview with Alex Brinkley announcing this makes no mention of it being on AM or DAB. He says online broadcasting is very popular and it will give them a chance to give FM listeners "more modern music in inverted commas"
It will be on the AM service when it doesn't have alternative programming. When Tynwald is sitting that's on AM most of the day. Also on their DAB trial service.
All Manx taxpayers contribute to Manx Radio's subvention, it's a public service broadcaster. Latest RAJAR figures show it's reach of live listening on the IOM is 39%
Looks like they are changing AM into a Gold station from tomorrow.
Yesterday June 29th marked 60 years of Manx Radio – the first legal commercial radio station in the British Isles.
The national public service media provider of the Isle of Man, it broadcasts from its own studio complex at Broadcasting House in Douglas.
