Yes, many of those crystals are WWII vintage for sure, type FT-243. I also have some large 10X crystals and they could be easily disassembled and ground to increase the resonant frequency. I did just that, moving a 10X on 1575kHz up to 1578 to be on-channel and zero beat wih NRK Fredrikstad back in the day. I used 1578 (190 metres) for my local service to Grimsby. RNI used the channel briefly in 1970 before being jammed.

Good to see you still have an old box of crystals... many probably dating to WW2, and may even still be working!!!!
