Thanks Peter, if true, that does sound like the real story of how the Ross escaped Santander - I guess when the Ross was towed into Dover, the creditors kept their heads down, as all they would have got was the recovery bills & a wreck - no chance of even scrapping the Ross to recover the unpaid loan.
So it was probably written off.
