Re: Another "Casualty", closing down after 60 years of broadcasting.
It's sad to hear another hospital radio station is closing after so many years. Surprising really they were still using their LPAM allocation on Medium wave when most stopped a long time ago. Hospital radio used to be a valuable source of entertainment for hospital patients on wards usually listening through the buildings wired network entertainment system. It has been a valuable first step into the radio industry for very many well known presenters. As they say, media has changed so much in recent years and it's probably the case that most people just listen to their own playlists on music streaming services through ear buds from their phones or similar these days or watch on demand video services. 60 years of programming is a huge legacy and they should be very proud of it.
