Just for a change I actually agree with OFCOM on this one. The BBC have been making drastic cuts to it's radio services - especially local radio to save money. Launching new services at the same time is a total contradiction even though the running costs would be minimal and mainly automated as it would be mainly archive output. Apparently Tony Blackburn as spoken out strongly against this OFCOM ruling so I guess he was thinking he would get to do some shows on this station if it had happened.
I just think it is a case of the BBC trying to rule supreme and am glad that they haven't got it all their way this time.
