We were in correspondence at the time and he knew that in the early 1980s I had written over 1000 pages of notes and quotes for a possible book on alternative radio/music of the 60s into the 70s. With SIBC underway, I knew that I would never have time to complete my book, if ever, and so I offered my work to Rob to delve into.
Many years later Rob got touch to say that he had abandoned his book, for several reasons, and that he was sending back my box, which, on arrival, was parked on a shelf at SIBC and had remained there ever since!
Rob still writes and self-produces books on the 60s-70s era mostly, including Syd Barrett, psychedelia and so on. Check Amazon.

Its a good read. Strips away lot of the bullshit about listening figures, commercial revenue etc of the 60s pirates. I have a PDF of it somewhere. I'll dig it out over the weekend.
Afaik Rob was going to write a similar book on the 70s offshore stations but it never happened.
