tpebop...thank goodness that the people behind the 2025/26 facelift know better than to use such timber on a ship's deck. The deck that you see now is (I think) that from Santander in 1983. As that naturally deteriorated, and while at sea, another layer of decking (maybe from Travis Perkins!!??) was added on top. This rotted away quite quickly, was lifted by volunteers, and left what you see now. Let's leave the refit to those who understand!
