Alan Beech, tells me that most of the equipment is still there, a few parts have been removed as spares for other sites. It is all pretty old stuff of course. It is all very much as if they went home on Friday, & did not return on Monday.

I remember that well. The 1296 service from Orford was very directional towards the east (even more so than 648 was)so a huge signal in the Netherlands and beyond but in the UK only really Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk could hear it. The antenna array is still there but not the transmitter I believe but somebody will know what if any equipment remains there. The antenna for 1296 was a corner fed rhombic square possibly ?
