Another Medium wave station has closed but nobody even noticed I just read elsewhere and confirmed on their Facebook page. Desi radio London which was on the top channel 1602 KHZ has closed it's AM service and is now on DAB+ and streaming online only.
This station had a pretty poor signal on 1602 though as I could only just hear it around 40 miles away using a sensitive radio.
I wonder how much longer 558 Panjab radio will stay on the air although that station has excellent coverage but suffers heavy electrical noise in the city like all AM stations do.
The closure of this station marks the last station gone from 1602 in the UK which had been used as a low power filler relay previously for several stations.
