Many thanks to Kevin D and yourself for passing on the link. I had tried the Pure updates and appeared to be making progress but only hit a wall when trying `unlock` with `failed` appearing on the display then going back to `upgrade`. I assumed that my radio was now obsolete. However I followed Darren`s link and now awaiting to hear back from Pure whom I must say were very quick to reply last evening and very helpful in how to find the software version and hardware ID which I have now sent over to them, so just awaiting a response.
I have just received via Amazon a small radio that runs on mains and AA batteries so that makes it ideal for carrying about the house and garden. I will use the Pure in the kitchen if I do manage to get it up and running.
Thank you for your help.

Andrew, Kevin D asked me to pass the below on to you. (he is not very happy with the cookies here, to post himself )
Try this -
http://upgrades.pure-audio.com/uk/update
I went through the process today and was able to download the file and was given an unlock code even though my software was up to date.
I have a Pure One Classic.
