"Born into show business through his parents and grand parents, Steve England always wanted to be a Dj on a pirate station.
Hear how he managed to "stow away" on the Mi Amigo and land his first on-air role, and his move to Radio Atlantis in late 1973.
A common thread throughout was his creativity and love of production. This landed him a job at Piccadilly Radio in Manchester and then his own businesses, Alfasound and S2Blue, which became the UK's foremost "jingle houses". Enjoy!"

Steve's first radio broadcast was on medium and shortwave land based pirate Channel Radio some may remember. I'd sent Robbie a copy of the letter I got from Robin Adcroft (Robin Banks on RNI) when I first heard them and the history of the channel Robin sent me later, see below.
I listened a lot to Radio Atlantis when it was on, could get a good signal in North Hertfordshire. Steve kept in occasional touch with me and other listeners who'd written to him, bought a set of excellent colour photos of Radio Atlantis and its crew/DJ's.

Sunday April 19th, Corby Radio, 2100-2200, Juke Box Drive In with Robbie Owen. Pirate Radio Special. An hour with Steve England.
"Steve England is one of Pirate Radio's "good guys". After years of trying he finally made it on to Radio Caroline, helped them launch Radio Mi Amigo, and then led a golden team on Radio Atlantis. After his pirate career he established himself as the UK's undisputed leader in the production of jingles. This is his story...ENJOY!"
