Solar powered smart bus signs. Each of these panels adjusts to be read at many light levels. But they are so efficient that they can be read in fairly low light while drawing only about 3 milliamperes at 3.6 volts.
My contribution was the LED panel firmware, each panel has a 32-bit ARM processor.
