Most countries pretending to be Communist are actually just dictatorships. The genius of the system in the US involves Checks And Balances and the Constitution. An economic or governmental system needs to take into account that humans are imperfect. Humans are ambitious and corruptible, they are not perfectible. The design of a system needs to take that into account. The design of Communist systems is naive and overly simplistic when it comes to human motivation and behavior. Countries that become Communist usually devolve into brutal dictatorships before the first turnover of leadership. Even it Kamala Harris wins the election and destroys the US, our system has lasted nearly 250 years.
