Hmmm, I was wrong, TheOne. Chicago's Lightfoot is treading on professional community organizers, there. The Woodlawn folks and community organizing goes back to the 1960s and Saul Alinsky, Bishop Arthur Brazier, and businessman Leon Finney.
The mayor was reacting to pressures from the GOP on earlier Spanish immigration, to Chicago, and had to choose her poison. That situation is politics 101.
I’ve got a class in front of me, TheOne, but this will be interesting to read later. I’ve noticed in the past where grass roots folks don’t critique non-U.S. Blacks accurately. I suspect we’re looking at an educational deficit showing itself.
Woodlawn's AA community is pissed off and angry at Chicago mayor Ms Lightfoot for trying to place or "dump" as they said 1500 Haitian Migrants in their area. I do however understand the response/reaction of AA in this mess but would AA act the same way had Lightfoot dumped 1500 "Ukrainian" migrants in the Black Neighborhood? LOL
Its true that AA areas were the dumping ground of all type of migrants historically speaking,.. Arab, Latinos and Filipinos, all had to start off in the Black areas of the USA, but unfortunately AA never spoke out about it for all these decades until now, 2 days ago, in Woodlawn, Chicago. Why?? And the day they spoke about it in 2023 the migrants in question happen to be BLACK(LOL too. Haitian migrants are not lucky, they are the only kind of migrants who couldn't peacefully make it in a neighborhood where the inhabitants look just like them.
