Yet she was a severe Pan-Africanist. I didn't get it though. LOL, thats like MalcolmX being married to a White woman 'lol)
What I find amazing about her bio is that although she was the product of her mother being sexually abused & raped by a white man (mother 14 yrs, father 40 yrs old), both in your article and in Wikipedia, the word rape isn't used. The whole thing is presented as if it was a legal affair or romance between two consenting adults. Unbelievable! ANYWAY..
Andree Blouing was no doubt an activist, but by my reading she comes across as very conflicted, mixed up, and a bit self-hating.
..its obvious she didn't care for Black African men and sought sex ONLY with white men/European colonists. Lawwd
In that sense she reminds me of one of Kris Columbus' favorite, Josephine Baker. STILL
Andree Blouin deserves to be written into the history of anti-colonialism in Africa, even though she sought a kind of African assimilatism.
Man, you sure present a master-class in Pan-African history on this board. Lots of folks not posting, but reading, must be impressed! Props!!
