My father was one and of course other family members
LOL, you know Les, I'm one of those very few diasporans who would not turn his back on his Pygmy brothers and sisters whereever they are(including Minnesota lol) for religious differences or cultural differences. That being said I will always embrace, acknowledge the rich and "diverse" African/Black cultural heritage and traditions around the world through food, music, art, language or even religion, while staying officially Moroccan.
Kris have tried a million times to put barriers between me as a Gnawa man and the Pygmies but he failed each time he attempted.

TheOne, you are officially American, not Moroccan.
Muslim's don't generally tap into that type genre, do they?
It's more like prayer several times a day, right?
1) The Fajr
2) The Zuhr
3) The Asr
4) The Maghrib
5) The Isha
Do you have family members who engage in these salahs?
