Great article thanks for sharing, "My son is Palestinian", thats so powerful. No doubt Mexicans from Chihuahua see their Virgin of Guadalupe(photo below) as a dark skinned mixed race and Palestinians might fit in perfectly, not to mention the fact that a quarter of Palestinians are Christians. Can you imagine Westerners who embrace Buddhism talking about a blasphemy simply because the budda priest appears to be Asian. LOL!!

Anyway, lets hope in the future Virgin of Guadalupe as a religious symbol will be used "indifferently" for saying "My Son is West Papuan", OR "My son is Congolese".

Ooh and by the way, like the ppl of Chihuahua, Mexico, some American Negro slaves have used religion as a symbol to defy the institutionalized slavery back in that time, but to no avail.
