Listen, the same logic & calculus behind SS is the same behind tax filing, whether you're paying back or receiving. That's how gov'ts in capitalist societies function - even when it seems like they're handing out stuff, they're double dealing.
When I found out I finally qualified I was happy, but then I found out you had to be careful you didn't make too much in your regular job otherwise it gets very tricky.

As for Elon Musk, dude is petty as FUKKK.. even though Barack helped him get federal gov't support for Tesla, he still carries a grudge blah blah blah
