He has a history of staging political spectacle without any follow up with substance..
Plus, the dude has represented the 9th Congressional District over here/Houston, tx, for close to 20 years yet the Black community is still catching hell..
His district is about half Black(with a few Caribbeans & Africans) and half Hispanic; Yet if you drive thru the Hispanic area its obvious its a more prosperous area, relatively speaking.

I am so sick of these guys dazzling us with spectacle yet not using their power to uplift the Black folks they're supposed to represent.
I feel the same way about Cong. Jim Clyburn - Clyburn has been in Congress for 32 YEARS YET HIS COMMUNITY REMAINS ONE OF THE POOREST in the nation. What's up with that?
We must hold our leaders responsible or things will continue its downward slide for all of us. Enough!

On the other hand, we had Mayor Sylvester Turner, who I posted about much earlier. He was effective without all the publicity stunts and carried himself with ole style negro class and respectability.
We need more Black politicians & leaders like Sylvester Turner. There.
