Wow, never heard of "Jim Dent" although I am well aware of the fact that there were some interesting Black professional golf players before Tiger woods. Not long ago I have posted about Alfred "Tup" Holmes who was the first Black golfer to desegregate golf in Georgia. Who else? Yes, you must check out "Charlie Sifford" who was the first Black golfer to earn a PGA Tour card, breaking the color barrier in professional golf in 1961. His achievement paved the way for other Black golfers to compete at the highest level of the sport.

Also, check out "Lee Elder" who in 1975 became the first black golfer to play in the Masters tournament.

And yes, may Jim Dent(photo below) RIP IN GOLF HEAVEN.
