He did elevate a woman to the highest position ever, so there's that.
My gut says, had Francis lived longer he might have cracked that glass ceiling a bit.

I loved him too, gm. I loved his "Latin American style" to the Papacy. He was close to the people, especially the poor.
He was also inclusive, unlike his recent predecessors. He welcomed dialogue with the LGBTQ+ community, even giving them his blessing which enraged conservatives.
However, the big stain on his legacy was his failure in dismantling the patriarchal structure of the church. He opposed women becoming priests and did little concerning accusations of clerical abuse of nuns by priests.
