Discussions on the Ramaphosa ambush only reference the "Afrikaner genocide" part, but Trump's own official white house directive also mentions that South Africa is being punished for taking Israel/Netanyahu before the ICJ. Here it is:
"Inaddition, South Africa has taken aggressive positions towards the United States and its allies, including accusing Israel, not Hamas, of genocide in the International Court of Justice, and reinvigorated its relations with Iran to develop commercial, military, and nuclear arrangements." [sec 1. 2nd paragraph]

It's right there yet everyone is afraid to mention that paragraph.
