One young man dug deep, on local news, as he sought to wrap his mind around what the late news on the abolition of enslavement represented to the Black people in Galveston, Texas? as they apparently toiled illegally under the hot sun of the southern United States.
Hmmm, were there any provisions provided for those people? What were they expected to do? just walk over to the next town, and do what?
Juneteenth certainly represents the resilience of us as a people -- and it certainly illustrates that lack of reparations was a non sequitur.
