Morrison's eerie voice and Manzarek's trancelike organ on light my fire is a tough act to follow. However, the orchestra backing up Bassey is really good. Perhaps her voice is a bit too powerful for the way we are used to hearing it. Jose Feliciano also sang it softly like Morrison. BTW, i went to a great lecture by Ray Manzarek at a bookstore in NYC years ago. it was extremely interesting. Ray was a working-class Polish kid from the South Side of Chicago.
