But wait! Here's writer Ta-Nehisi Coates to the rescue and he's taking no prisoners in putting Kirk into his proper place:

I keep telling y'all, Ta-Nehisi Coates is the new James Baldwin of his time, and we need him like oxygen to the brain - his Black voice is so urgently needed.
Too often I find myself getting the most insightful analysis of things affecting the Black community from white rebels, so it's good Ta-Nehisi is speaking out.
