She and Putin have an "open channel of communication"?

What does that mean? I see its about displaced children of the war but...???
Doesn't the White House have a special Russian envoy to deal with these things?
..does Ukraine's president Zelensky know about this? How could you deal effectively with the Russian/Ukraine war if your wife has an "open channel of communication" with the supposed enemy? Isn't that kinda trickery in terms of diplomacy? Can Trump really go against Putin while Melania is having her own kind of diplomatic relations with him? Weird!
