"We must tell the truth, democracy isn't for us. Wherever [western powers] try to establish democracy in the world, it's always accompanied by bloodshed."
[4.4]
Okay, I get that, but what's an alternative that's been truly successful in Africa? Except, perhaps, for Libya under Gaddafi!
Traore has been great for Burkina Faso so far, but most personalities like his that have started very revolutionary & PanAfricanist have given in to their egos & power over what's good for ordinary African people. Both Mobuto & Duvalier & Amin started off with true revolutionary zeal but ended up being run-of-the-mill dictators.
But then, those who maintained a true PanAfricanist perspective were quickly shut down and assassinated by the West.
Anyway, though I remain a fan of Ibrahim Traore, i'm not ready to give up on my skepticism. If he continues to do what he's currently doing for his country, then let's give him some slack. There.
