Haitians remain the most despised Black people in the African diaspora. The discrimination against them spread throughout the Caribbean too - in Jamaica & the Bahamas especially. When hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas around 2019, the Bahamian gov't did nothing to help them - they even tried to take time out from recovery efforts to deport some who'd been there for years!
Let's not even mentioned the shit they've gone through and are going through in the Dominican Republic.
Those Hollywood movies about Haiti and its Voodoo/Vodun practices forever stigmatized Haitian people. Terrible!
So of course, with a white supremacist administration in the White House, it's no surprise that they'd target Haitians for deportation, even those here legally.
LOL.. i'm not making this up: for a while Haitian immigrants were considered a "model minority" to be thrown in the faces of AAs. They were and are good at building small business communities in areas once deserted etc., both in New Yor city and in some sections of Miami.
Ha! Ha! Ha!...When Trump was running for office this time around he stopped in "Little Haiti"(miami) and promised he'd treat them better than President Biden did - at the time Biden was deporting a whole bunch of them. The Haitian leaders believed Trump and helped him win Florida. They didn't listen to the warnings of the AfricanAmerican leaders who told them not to trust Trump. So now its instant Karma time. lol
