Like I've told you before, back in the 80s when there was no internet and no cellphones, and even no libraries in Morocco, I use to talk to ppl randomly(Black and non-Black Moroccans including members of my own families and even the neighbors) about this social skin issue. I've got responses like, "we're a Muslim society therefore its not serious or it doesn't exist coz we're all poor". Got other responses like, "you're right, we have a hidden racism in this society and its denied, its taboo, no one is really ready to talk about it". Got other responses like, "Don't be a divisive person, we're all Moroccans, and when you talk about racism you are trying to separate the ppl"". Hahaha!
The last response I remember cracked me up because its like someone having cancer in his throat but if you tell him to go to the hospital for an urgent surgery, you are somehow guilty for saying it. LOL!! Check out this video below where this non-black Moroccan lady who obviously grew up in England, you can tell by her accent. I see that she's talking about something that I've talked about decades ago when I was living in Morocco as a youth.
