, you must know that Israel's current government and many of its citizens oppose a two-state solution primarily due to deep-seated security fears, historical distrust, and "ideological" claims to the land. Also on the Palestinian side "some" don't want any two-state solution, they want the Jews out. They see them as invaders.

It may seem so and if the Netanyahu brand of politics continues, Israel is in deep shit! HOWEVER, always remember there's a deep Radical Tradition in Jewish life and its intellectual tradition with many of its adherents in Israel. If they are able to gain political currency and acceptability in a post Netanyahu Israel, the country will be okay, especially if a two-state peace agreement comes about.
In the mean time, if the Netanyahu-style of politics continues, the instinct for revenge against Israel will simmer and eventually boil over/explode - believe me, the young kids who survive the genocide will grow up, get educated, and probably become more dangerous than Osama bin Laden.
