Mr TheOne - the Great discoverer of things Black - must be in deep research some where🤔😕. Anyway..
Man, African Americans have produced some brilliant artists/minds who were also politically radical.. JAMES FORTEN seems to have been everything during the bad ole days.. An artist (fiber craftsman, sailmaker etc).. And very much against Kris Columbus even during the bad ole days--he was an abolitionist too. Lawwd!
Hmm, I keep telling yall the emphasis on "integration " was a mistake. Anyway.....

Hmmm, James Forten inhabited an interesting space in American life.
He helped fund William Lloyd Garrison's abolitionist newspaper.
Wiki: '"When James Forten died, he left behind an exemplary family, a sizable fortune, and a legacy of philanthropy and activism that inspired generations of black Philadelphians.[10]
In 2001, scholar Molefi Kete Asante listed James Forten on his list of 100 Greatest African Americans.[14]"

Re: James Forten: the great discoverer never mentioned// What? I doubt it....
LOL, Are you sure that I have never posted him, G?? Please double check.
Yes, Forten was a remarkable man, as a teenager he narrowly avoided being sold into slavery. As an adult, he grew into one of the most prominent African American businessmen in the whole of 19th century America, and was a leading voice in the call for the abolition of the abhorrent trade that had so nearly claimed him.
