Maria Stewart, in 1832, became the first American woman, a Black woman, to speak publicly to audiences of men and women about politics. Her view that women's political power should not be limited by either racism or sexism was adopted by the next generations of Black women activists. For them, the 19th Amendment did not go far enough because anti-Black racism still kept too many Black women from the polls.
You see, I did everything I could in my White power to stop Maria Stewart in 1832 but to no avail. She got me.
"""She believed "Black men lacked ambition and requisite courage""""
Yeah, she fuucked it up when she said that, she even retired from giving lectures after that. LOL!!
But we have to give her some credit though, coz if it wasn't for her efforts Black women would not have giving the chance to vote after her death. She was a role modele to Black women.
""""Lawwwd, such a mulatto bitch""""
Nope , she was just a light skinned AA,... she was the child of free African-American parents. She was born in Connecticut.
