New York Times By Claire Fahy, Julian Roberts-Grmela and Sean Piccoli Published Oct. 27, 2023 Updated Oct. 28, 2023, 3:38 a.m. ET Hundreds of protesters calling for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war streamed into Grand Central Terminal in Midtown Manhattan on Friday, in one of the largest protests New York City has seen since the start of the conflict three weeks ago.
The demonstration, organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, came as Israel ramped up its military operations inside Gaza.
The protesters filled the train station, chanting, “Cease-fire now” and “Let Gaza live.” Most wore black shirts that read “not in our name.” One police officer estimated that there were as many as 1,000 protesters.
Yes, Maestro, Israel is not the monolith that is often framed in the corporate media. And while my vantage point, concerning the Israeli state, is that the appropriation of ancient Black people into modern pink people has contributed to the global institutional racism against people of color. I none-the-less laud the Noam Chomskys, William Kunstlers, Miko Pileds, and Rabbi Dovid Weiss’ of the world, who stand for the big picture of fairness, justice, and equity across the board.
Indeed, kudos to those who are rallying to stop the violence.

Nothing new here! Some of the most revolutionary people across the board are Jewish! A significant number of people carrying the torch for Black liberation have been Jewish! In the fight against South African apartheid, many of those who joined the ANC for ARMED STRUGGLE were Jews, including the mighty revolutionary Joe Slovo - RIP. Some of my intellectual heroes are Jewish!
Most folks don't realize it but some of the most vociferous & militant critics of Israel/Zionism are Jews in Israel! Of course you'd never know that from mainstream coverage of Israeli politics etc etc
Very good point, G. I'm well aware that there are Jews in conflict with other Jews over the Palestinian(or any other race around the globe) issue. Its kinda like good cop vs bad cop. Two people on one side who are both present at bargaining, one of whom constantly objects and disagrees (the Bad cop), and the other who pushes the Bad cop to give a little more (the Good cop).
My question is are the good Jews who disagree with the bad Jews considered Anti-semitic? And lose their jobs?
