Dr. Sonnie W. Hereford III and Sonnie W. Hereford IV recreate their historic journey (image on right below) into American history at the site of Alabama's Public School integration. On September 9, 1963, "Little Sonnie" became the first Negro student to integrate public schools in Alabama at the Fifth Avenue School. The school stood at the site of present day Spine and Neuro at the intersection of Governors Drive and Gallatin Street.
