Thanks, Maestro. I agree with Rev. Barber, wholeheartedly, on the goals and benchmarks of the Poor People's Campaign. His co-chair was keen not to leave out the systemic conditions that foster poverty.
The Campaign is unequivocally a core component of our current struggle. Generational poverty, economically and educationally is the bedrock of the present-day stagnation in the liberation movement.
As for his co chair Rev, Liz Theoharris, I am proud to say, i have been friends with her progressive Greek Father going back to the 80's. He taught at Marquette University. When I worked for a greek friend of mine at a store which sold international goods, her father, Nathan, would often visit. I recall seeing a very young Liz back then. I am in the process of getting involved in this great group of Rev, Barber and Rev Theoharris. I think this broad based coalition carries on the tradition of the rainbow concept. Something I am deeply committed to.
